Orthognathic Surgery

Corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic surgery) treats and corrects abnormalities of the facial bones, specifically the jaws and the teeth. Often, these abnormalities cause difficulties associated with chewing and talking. Orthognathic surgery corrects the jaw relationship and, in conjunction with orthodontic treatment, will improve the overall appearance of the facial profile.

In cases where surgery is indicated, an orthodontist will work with a highly trained surgeon to correct the jaw misalignment and to provide a functional bite and aesthetic healthy smile.
