sbraces4At Casey Orthodontics, our goal is to provide each of our patients with a brilliant and confident smile. While we are happy to work with patients of all ages, from early to adult treatment, we find that completing most visits to your Warminster, Horsham, & Hatboro orthodontists early on has many benefits. This is one reason why we encourage our patients to seek out Phase II and adolescent treatment when the time is right.

Why Seek Treatment Now?

Phase II or adolescent treatment usually starts between the ages of 11 and 15. It is called Phase II because it often follows Phase I or early treatment. By the age of 12, nearly all of the permanent teeth have erupted, and our orthodontists can more easily detect any issues such as gaps, poor bites, and crooked teeth. This is prime time to seek treatment because these issues will not just fix themselves.

Between the ages of 11 and 15, most adolescents are still cooperative with orthodontic treatment and instruction, and because this is a common time for children to wear Invisalign or braces, teens are more amenable to wearing these corrective appliances. Many children go through several growth spurts during this period as well, which offers our orthodontists the chance to shape the teeth and bite correctly. The high metabolism of teens during this age also helps with quicker recovery and less discomfort during treatment. With the proper procedures completed early on, many adolescents may even be able to finish up their regimen before or during the early years of high school.
